In Person Communication
Communicating in person is the most powerful way to get the message across. Here are some examples:
- Town Hall style meeting where a member of the leadership team provides a short presentation on WooBoard to all employees, with a question and answer session afterwards.
- Line Manager meetings. In larger organisations, it may be more effective to present WooBoard to your Line Managers first, and then have them present it to their individual teams directly.
You can also send out messages via an internal channel such as email, your intranet or comms tools such as Slack or Yammer.
Don't forget to include:
- The reasons why your company wants to start using WooBoard as a recognition tool
- Some information about the benefits of recognition (you can find more information on this in the User Guide in the Resources section below)
- The unique sign up link for your company's WooBoard account
- Link to our User Guide, which you can provide to your employees to help them understand the concept of WooBoard, and how to get started.
- Unique sign up link for your company account. A WooBoard administrator can find this by clicking on the settings cog on the right side of the menu bar and choosing "Invite People".
WooBoard works best if your management team are regularly sending out Woos. Never underestimate the power of a Woo sent from a senior manager. Employees love to be recognised and appreciated for their work, especially from those above them.
When someone receives a Woo they feel great! This sets of a chain reaction where the employee who receives the Woo is then more likely to send a Woo to another colleague. Over time, the feeling of employee goodwill and happiness will circulate and grow throughout your office.
Many of our customers have found that designating "Woo Champions" is a great way to ensure high uptake in their organization. A Woo Champion is tasked with giving out Woos regularly during the first 3 months of using WooBoard.
Typically your Woo Champions should be well liked and well known in your business. They should also be fun, gregarious, and social. Ideally they are in a role where their duties put them in contact with a high number of other staff members e.g. Office Managers, Receptionists, HR staff, and managers of large teams.
It's a great idea to invite your Woo Champions to a designated training session where you make them feel special for being selected to help make WooBoard a success in your business. You should set a goal for the number of Woos that they send each week. A good figure would be between 2 - 4 per week.
Everybody loves to win a prize so it's a great idea to incorporate this into your roll out strategy, and indeed your ongoing WooBoard strategy.
A simple way of doing this is to create a prize draw for all your employees who sign up to WooBoard and send at least one Woo in a specific time period. This creates a buzz around the roll out and gives things a good kick start.
